How a Pakistani protest song is redefining Islam as anti-terrorist

The song “Ye Hum Naheen” which is performed by eight celebrity singers, including Strings, Shuja Hyder, Hadiqa Kiani and Ali Zafar, has become a success while also promoting a powerful anti-terrorism message. The song’s title is Urdu for “This is Not Us” and is meant to show that Islam does not agree with terrorist activity. Along with the song, almost 63 million Pakistanis signed a petition supporting its message within just five weeks during the summer. Thanks to the power of the message and the performers, the song was able to top the charts in Pakistan and at MTV Asia, as well as the British Asian charts once a video was released for the song on YouTube.com.
