predator strikes inside Pakistan

It is not terrorism when US attacks with a drone in Pakistan and kills 700 innocent civilians.

Of the 60 cross-border predator strikes carried out by the Afghanistan-based American drones in Pakistan between January 14, 2006 and April 8, 2009, only 10 were able to hit their actual targets, killing 14 wanted al-Qaeda leaders, besides perishing 687 innocent Pakistani civilians. The success percentage of the US predator strikes thus comes to not more than six per cent.

Figures compiled by the Pakistani authorities show that a total of 701 people, including 14 al-Qaeda leaders, have been killed since January 2006 in 60 American predator attacks targeting the tribal areas of Pakistan. Two strikes carried out in 2006 had killed 98 civilians while three attacks conducted in 2007 had slain 66 Pakistanis, yet none of the wanted al-Qaeda or Taliban leaders could be hit by the Americans right on target.

However, of the 50 drone attacks carried out between January 29, 2008 and April 8, 2009, 10 hit their targets and killed 14 wanted al-Qaeda operatives. Most of these attacks were carried out on the basis of intelligence believed to have been provided by the Pakistani and Afghan tribesmen who had been spying for the US-led allied forces stationed in Afghanistan.

The remaining 50 drone attacks went wrong due to faulty intelligence information, killing hundreds of innocent civilians, including women and children. The number of the Pakistani civilians killed in those 50 attacks stood at 537, in which 385 people lost their lives in 2008 and 152 people were slain in the first 99 days of 2009 (between January 1 and April 8).

Of the 50 drone attacks, targeting the Pakistani tribal areas since January 2008, 36 were carried out in 2008 and 14 were conducted in the first 99 days of 2009. Of the 14 attacks targeting Pakistan in 2009, three were carried out in January, killing 30 people, two in February killing 55 people, five in March killing 36 people and four were conducted in the first nine days of April, killing 31 people.

Of the 14 strikes carried out in the first 99 days of April 2009, only one proved successful, killing two most wanted senior al-Qaeda leaders - Osama al Kini and Sheikh Ahmed Salim Swedan. Both had lost their lives in a New Year’s Day drone strike carried out in the South Waziristan region on January 1, 2009.

Kini was believed to be the chief operational commander of al-Qaeda in Pakistan and had replaced Abu Faraj Al Libi after his arrest from Bannu in 2004. Both men were behind the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Dares Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, which killed 224 civilians and wounded more than 5,000 others.

There were 36 recorded cross-border US predator strikes inside Pakistan during 2008, of which 29 took place after August 31, 2008, killing 385 people. However, only nine of the 36 strikes hit their actual targets, killing 12 wanted al-Qaeda leaders. The first successful predator strike had killed Abu Laith al Libi, a senior military commander of al-Qaeda who was targeted in North Waziristan on January 29, 2008. The second successful attack in Bajaur had killed Abu Sulayman Jazairi, al-Qaeda’s external operations chief, on March 14, 2008. The third attack in South Waziristan on July 28, 2008, had killed Abu Khabab al Masri, al-Qaeda’s weapons of mass destruction chief. The fourth successful attack in South Waziristan on August 13, 2008, had killed al-Qaeda leader Abdur Rehman.

The fifth predator strike carried out in North Waziristan near Miranshah on Sept 8, 2008 had killed three al-Qaeda leaders, Abu Haris, Abu Hamza, and Zain Ul Abu Qasim. The sixth successful predator hit in the South Waziristan region on October 2008 had killed Khalid Habib, a key leader of al-Qaeda’s paramilitary Shadow Army.

The seventh such attack conducted in North Waziristan on October 31, 2008 had killed Abu Jihad al Masri, a top leader of the Egyptian Islamic group. The eighth successful predator strike had killed al-Qaeda leader Abdullah Azzam al Saudi in east of North Waziristan on November 19, 2008.

The ninth and the last successful drone attack of 2008, carried out in the Ali Khel region just outside Miramshah in North Waziristan on November 22, 2008, had killed al-Qaeda leader Abu Zubair al Masri and his Pakistani fugitive accomplice Rashid Rauf.

According to the figures compiled by the Pakistani authorities, a total of 537 people have been killed in 50 incidents of cross-border US predator strikes since January 1, 2008 to April 8, 2009, averaging 34 killings per month and 11 killings per attack. The average per month killings in predator strikes during 12 months of 2008 stood at 32 while the average per attack killings in the 36 drone strikes for the same year stood at 11.

Similarly, 152 people have been killed in 14 incidents of cross-border predator attacks in the tribal areas in the first 99 days of 2009, averaging 38 killings per month and 11 killings per attack.

"if we’ve got actual war intelligence on high-ranking Al Qaeda leaders, or for that matter high-ranking Taliban leaders who are directing actions against US troops –then we will take action,’ Mr Obama told CBS’s Steve Kroft.’"

and Pakistan says:

"The senior Pakistani official bridled at the suggestion that Pakistan has been reluctant to target militants in Quetta, saying U.S. assertions about the city’s role as a sanctuary have been exaggerated. “We keep hearing that there is a shadow government in Quetta, but we have never been given actionable intelligence,” the Pakistani official was quoted as saying. Pakistan is prepared to pursue Taliban leaders, including Omar, even when the intelligence is imprecise, the official said. “Even if a compound 1 kilometer by 1 kilometer is identified, we will go find him.” But, he added, “for the past two years we haven’t heard anything more.”

and

"Pakistani officials, according to a report, have warned that the fallout would be severe.

“We are not a banana republic,” a senior Pakistani official involved in discussions of security issues with the Obama administration, was quoted as saying. “If the United States follows through, the official said, “this might be the end of the road.” "

Now Imagine, just 14 AQ leaders killed and how much would have joined them after they lost their families?

Crimes and Terrorism of Terrorist Mafia Government of India

Hindu Militants Continue Violence Against Christians in India
Seek to Wipe Out All Traces of Christianity

By Council of Khalistan - http://www.khalistan.com

Washington DC, USA (Khalistan.com) - The wave of violence against
Christians in Orissa [India] continues. Militant Hindu nationalists
affiliated with the militant, pro-Fascist Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh
(RSS), have called for a nun, who was raped by their activists, to be
arrested and they have reportedly sought to wipe out all traces of
Christianity from Orissa.

On October 21 [2008], a group of Hindu women from the Rashtra Sevika
Samiti - an outfit affiliated to the Sangh Parivar (an organization
under the umbrella of the RSS) - demonstrated to demand the arrest of
a nun who was raped during the violence that erupted in the area in
August. "They want to arrest the victim," noted Dr. Gurmit Singh
Aulakh, President of the Council of Khalistan [based in Washington DC,
USA]. "That is offensive to anyone's sense of decency." Asia News
reported that the Sangh Parivar, another Hindu fundamentalist group
affiliated with the RSS, "[is] becoming more methodical. Sometimes
with police assistance they prevent Christians from meeting to pray,
try to murder new converts, and are trying to take over the land where
churches and Christian homes once stood in order to wipe off the face
of the Earth any trace of Christian presence."

Dr. Aulakh made it clear that the Council of Khalistan and the Sikh
Nation support the Christians in fighting the oppression. "We are on
your side," he said. "First it was Sikhs, Muslims, Dalits, now
Christians," he said, referring to a wave of anti-Christian oppression
that has been raging since Christmas 1998. "The rape of any woman,
especially a nun, is shameful," he said. "Nuns renounce sex and are
'married to Christ.' Raping them is an attack on the Christian
religion itself," he said. "They have tried to wipe out Sikhism and
Buddhism. Now the Indians [Hindus] are trying to wipe out
Christianity." Dr. Aulakh's efforts to help Christians have been
praised by John Dayal, President of the All-India Christian Council.

The latest attacks in Orissa are part of an ongoing campaign of
violent harassment of Christians that has been going on since
Christmas 1998. Churches have been burned, Christian schools have been
attacked and Christian prayer halls have been vandalized. Missionary
Graham Staines was murdered in 1999 in Orissa by a mob of militant
Hindus chanting "Victory to Hannuman," (a Hindu god) while he slept in
his jeep, along with his two sons. The killers have never been
punished. Missionary Joseph Cooper was so severely beaten that he had
to spend a week in an Indian hospital, then he was expelled from the
country. Many nuns have been raped and made to drink their own urine.
Priests have been murdered. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), an
organization under the umbrella of the militant, pro-Fascist, Hindu
nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), justified these crimes
by calling the nuns "anti-national elements." The RSS, the parent
organization of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has published
booklets on how to implicate Christians and other minorities in false
criminal cases.

In April, according to Compass Direct, about 70 violent Hindu
nationalists chased and threatened two Christian women from a Gospel
for Asia Bible college after a Christian worship service. They burned
the church. All the Christians escaped except the two young women. The
Hindu militants threatened: "We will burn you like Graham Staines and
his children!" A leader of the BJP was quoted as saying that everyone
who lives in India must either be a Hindu or be subservient to
Hindus.

India has murdered over 250,000 Sikhs since 1984, according to figures
compiled by the Punjab State Magistracy and human-rights groups and
reported in the book The Politics of Genocide by Inderjeet Singh
Jaijee. It has also killed over 90,000 Kashmiri-Muslims since 1988,
2,000 to 5,000 Muslims in Gujarat, more than 300,000 Christians in
Nagaland since 1947, and thousands of Christians and Muslims elsewhere
in the country, as well as tens of thousands of Assamese, Bodos,
Dalits, Manipuris, Tamils and other minorities. The Indian Supreme
Court called the Indian Government's murders of Sikhs "worse than a
genocide."

According to a report by the Movement Against State Repression (MASR),
52,268 Sikhs are being held as political prisoners in India without
charge or trial. Some have been in illegal custody since 1984! Amnesty
International reported that tens of thousands of other minorities are
also being held as political prisoners. We demand the immediate
release of all these political prisoners.

Dr. Aulakh noted that the repression of the Sikhs has echoes in the
repression of the Christians. "It is sad that in the name of religion
[Hinduism or Hindutva], violent acts like this are carried out," Dr.
Aulakh said. "We strongly condemn the violence against Christians,
which is sadly reminiscent of the violence that has been committed
against Sikhs, Muslims, and others," Dr. Aulakh said. "They murdered
several priests and they murdered Staines and beat Cooper. Similarly,
the Indian Government murdered Sardar Gurdev Singh Kaunke, Jathedar of
the Akal Takht. If you are a religious leader of a non-Hindu religion
in India, you are in danger," he said. "The burning of churches and
the vandalism of prayer halls and schools is an attack on fundamental
religious institutions. These attacks on churches remind me of the
Golden Temple attack. They constitute an attack on the religion
itself, Dr. Aulakh said. "That is unacceptable, especially in a
country that promotes itself as a secular democracy." He noted that
India recently signed a civil nuclear agreement with the United
States. "I call on the Bush Administration and its successors [the
Obama Administration] to work with India to ensure that basic human
rights are enjoyed by Sikhs, Christians, Muslims, Dalits, and all the
people living under Indian rule," he said. "We must continue to press
for our God-given birthright of freedom," he said. "Unfortunately, the
Indian Government does nothing but encourage and support this
repression and violence. Is this the face of modern Hinduism [or
Hindutva] and the so-called secular India?" - [Council of Khalistan -

THE WORLD’S LEADING TERRORIST!

WHY GEORGE W. BUSH IS
THE WORLD’S LEADING TERRORIST!

bushter

Terrorism is the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives. - US Federal Bureau of Investigation

Read the sentence carefully. You didn’t hear it on any corporate media newscast since 9/11. It’s the official US FBI definition of terrorism. In its official definition, the FBI does not limit terrorism to stateless individuals or groups. In its official definition, the FBI does not suggest that terrorism cannot be perpetrated by the leader of a nation state. But even more amazing is that the official FBI definition of terrorism describes exactly what George Bush did in the aftermath of the attacks of 9/11!

APPLYING THE DEFINITION

  • George W. Bush, in his unprovoked attack against the sovereign nation of Iraq, openly violated the UN Charter, to which the US is a signatory. The Charter's core principles contained in Article 2(4) and Article 51 prohibit one nation from attacking another except in self-defense or with the authority of the U.N. In effect, George Bush launched an unlawful use of force against persons and property.
  • The invasion launched by George W. Bush was heralded by the most frightening and powerful use of force and military violence in recent history. His Shock and Awe bombardment of Baghdad was designed to intimidate and coerce the government as well as the civilian population of that nation to change its existing leadership. That, in itself, was a political objective.
  • The purpose of the invasion and ensuing occupation of Iraq was to replace the existing dictatorship with an American-backed form of democracy that would not permit the emergence of a government headed by the majority Shia religious leadership. These motives were unquestionably political and social.

So, what part of the FBI definition of “terrorism” do the voters of the United States not understand? And what acts of terrorism as defined by the FBI do the voters of the United States not recognize? Is there any doubt at all that the Bush administration committed acts of terrorism when it unlawfully used force and violence against the nation of Iraq to intimidate and coerce its government and the civilian population, in furtherance of the Bush/PNAC political and social objectives.

Therefore, by any definition, if George W. Bush is guilty of terrorism, he can accurately be identified as a TERRORIST. And if he is truly a terrorist, it is only fitting that George W. Bush be scrutinized in terms of his success in that capacity. What is his standing among the other murderous terrorist activity in the world today? Is it possible that George W. Bush actually has claim to being the very BEST at something during his reign in office? Let’s look at the figures.

MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL
WHO’S THE LEADING TERRORIST OF ALL?

terrbush2

THE CONTEST

EVERYONE ELSE: Despite the protestations of George W. Bush to the contrary, we are NOT safer now by any stretch of the imagination. According to an NBC report at the beginning of September, 2004, there were roughly 2,929 terrorism related deaths around the world since the 9/11 attacks. Of these, 58 per cent of them – 1,709 – occurred in 2004 - this year!

Repeat: The total number of deaths in the entire world at the hands of terrorists since George W. Bush declared a War on Terror, amounts to around 3,000. Add the terrible losses in the United States on that fateful morning of September 11th, and we reach somewhere in the vicinity of 6,000 precious, innocent lives. Again: In only three years, terrorists around the world took the lives of approximately six thousand people.

GEORGE W. BUSH: In pursuit of his arrogant and PNAC-driven political and social objectives in Iraq, George W. Bush has the blood of thousands of innocent civilians on his hands. To cover his guilt, early in the war, the US government ordered the Iraqi Ministry of Health to stop counting civilian deaths, and forbade them from releasing any totals previously gathered. The image of a surgical war, dominated by smart bombs and resulting in very few civilian casualties was televised to the American public throughout the hostilities.

As a result, the number of civilian casualties in Iraq is probably vastly under-estimated. According to Human Rights Watch, many of the civilian deaths were the direct result of weapons that should never have been used in populated areas. Among these were nearly 2 million submunitions which fail to explode immediately and killed people long after the initial conflict had ended. In addition, the strategy of decapitation bombing killed many civilians while it failed to kill a single Iraqi military leader in 50 attempts.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, civilian losses in Iraq have been severe. They used the research results of a group of British and Americans who surveyed media reports of casualties as well as eyewitness accounts to conclude that between 8,789 and 10,638 Iraqi civilians have died since war began March 19, 2003. That puts George Bush in the lead for most successful terrorist, big time.

As of September, 2004, IraqBodyCount.net placed the Iraqi civilian death total at a minimum of 11,793 and a maximum of 13,802. On September 8th, 2004 the AP reported that no official, reliable figures existed for the whole country, but private estimates ranged from 10,000 to 30,000 killed since the United States invaded in March 2003. Whatever count you accept, George W. Bush wins, big time.

If we go with the lowball figure, - the very least estimate of Iraqi civilians killed as a direct result of the unlawful invasion and occupation of the country, George W. Bush still wins the title of the LEADING TERRORIST alive today, big time.

If we go with the lowest estimate, then the number 8,789 stands for the total civilian deaths caused by the invasion of Iraq in LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF. Contrast that number to the 6,000 deaths caused AROUND THE WORLD in THREE YEARS, by other terrorists. No matter how you look at it, George W. Bush wins, big time.

And that doesn’t include the estimated 3,485 civilian deaths in Afghanistan, - the country to which we sent only 11,000 troops to fight the Taliban. George W. Bush claimed victory in Iraq in his acceptance speech. What utter nonsense. The country is dangerous and explosive, and in the hands of the same warlords and Taliban chieftains who ruled before 9/11. Revisionist history by this administration is never challenged by the media. The list of Big Lies prevails.

And it doesn’t include the military deaths on all sides, or the kidnappings, or the contractor deaths or the wounded or the dying. It doesn’t count the deaths to come from the depleted uranium shells or the permanently maimed and psychologically affected.

George W. Bush, his handlers and his administration can be proud. The dubious title of LEADING TERRORIST now belongs to the most powerful man in the world who seeks another term of office to continue what he has begun.

The American corporate media refuse to address the totals. Doing so might result in an accusation of being unpatriotic or un-American. Doing so would challenge directives from the WH such as those that keep the nation from seeing the draped coffins of our military dead. Doing so might even influence the outcome of this crucial election.

How utterly shameful that is for this wonderful country and how tragic for the world.
